I am a worker on a very high bridge. It seems that it is Texas for some reason. But, it definitely is near the ocean. We are on the water’s edge putting a section on the highest part of the bridge that holds all of the cables. It feels like miles above the ground, but I have no fear. I get queasy when I look down, though.
I watch some of the other guys walk around up here with no safety lines doing crazy things that could get you killed. One guy uses the back end of his hammer as an extension to hold onto the ledge as he walks across.
I find out that I get a day on the ground when we get down. I am just a worker.
I wake up.
