And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.” But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:61-62
Once Jesus calls you out and puts you to work in the Kingdom, you must not look back. You must not look at what you are risking and leaving behind. He has work for you to do. Do it. Now, what I am beginning to see is that your family is a huge part of the plow that He gives you. You must minister to them once you come to terms that you are to be prepared to leave them forever in obedience to whatever it is that He calls you to and for Himself, as God.
This is a hard thing. Unless you hate your family, you are not worthy of me. You must not look back or you are not worthy of the Kingdom of God.
Realize those, and you will feel the immediate pressure to then go minister to the hearts of the spouse and children that He brought into your life to begin with but with a grip of love rather than iron.
