You know, I have walked through 8+ years of preparation. God has taken me through much.
And, if what I read is accurate, perfecting is just the beginning. 17 keeps coming up. I have that as spiritual and ordinal perfection. James spoke about being made perfect. Peter gives the food chain of perfection. That is just the beginning. So, God makes us to lack nothing. Ha, we dont get commissioned, per se, until that? Some folks can walk it out for a long time.
Wow.
1 Peter 5:10
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
James 1
2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
So, we have various trials that build endurance. Endurance leads to perfection and no lack in any regard. Perfection then leads to confirmation, strengthening and confirmation.
Trials lead us into our calling. God releases it on us but shapes us into His mold. Those trials can leave us weakened, it would seem. Why would God need to strengthen us? I like the confirmation part.
God, confirm me!
