Romans 9:18
Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.
There is a lot to this, and one can draw the direct line to Pharaoh and Moses. We also see that there is a direct line to comparing the Gentiles and the Israelites. God’s own chosen ones, He hardens. It is all for His wrath, Name and glory.
“What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessles of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory… (v. 22-23)
There is something to this with Laura and I. Her heart has been so hard towards me. It is just flat hard. Now, we look at history and see many people have been used for God’s glory. It seems crazy that Pharaoh, a created child of God would be used just for this purpose and then sent to hell for eternity to suffer? What’s up with that?
Would God not use Laura and I for His glory as well? I dont know, but her heart has been hard, and I know who does the hardening.
Could it be that He hardened her heart for a season so that His name would be made great as victory is gained? As He resurrects our marriage and creates something new and more glorious, will He not be made great in the land? Will He not get the honor and glory?
Could it be that He set it all up just for that purpose?
