Evan gives me a number for Brett’s comp plan – 100k. So, I write his compensation. Evan approves it.
Brett balks. He and I meet to go over it, and Brett gets angry and vulgar about how his commissions are cut in half. I shared that his old plan was net negative, etc.
So, he goes to Evan and talk. Evan gives him a higher rate for Q1. Evan shares this with me 1/4ish.
I meet with Brett on 1/8, and it seems that Evan has raised his comp plan forever at a higher rate.
The net is that Evan tells me that our group must be profitable and that my measurements will be tied to that. Then, he gives me my KPI’s at the previous rates for Brett but had given Brett a higher commission rate thus reducing my profitability. And, he didnt allow me to work through this. So, Brett now knows that he can go to Evan anytime he wants to get things his way.
And, we had this pharma deal that we are working on. Evan got the lead. I shared with them all yesterday that we needed to establish Brett as point man for this deal. In front of everyone, I told Brett to put together an agenda and get it out. Evan ends up sending out the invite and sending the agenda.

This is horrible leadership, and I am not enjoying it at all.
I feel oppressed continually.
