Apart from Jesus

I feel that the LORD is also speaking to me about the dryness of the past season. Perhaps this dryness is about to be done. I prayed for Scott Thompson yesterday at Bethel, and the fire fell on him. He felt it in my hand, in his belly, coming out in his breath and throat. Sickness was leaving. Then, I prayed for a girl at Passion City who had a hurt ankle. She said it felt all better. Glory to God!

Here is my verse for the season:

“O GOD, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is. So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.”—Psalm 63:1–3 AMP

Yesterday, as I was running, the thought came in, “you can do nothing apart from Jesus.” My time in the morning was pitiful. I prayed for 5 minutes and then got up. I didnt even read the bible.

You know, when Jesus says that we can do NOTHING, He really means NOTHING. We cannot even pray without Him helping out. Today’s word from Elijahlist had Bobby Conner. It was a great exhortation. Dig the last line:

Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.—Romans 8:37

Don’t draw back, be bold and very courageous, knowing that you are not facing any situation alone, Almighty God is with you; it is His presence that guarantees your success.

Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.—Joshua 1:9 AMP

The Spirit of Truth will teach us the vast difference between fleshly arrogance and true Holy Spirit confidence. In our own fleshly power we can do nothing lasting for the Kingdom of God.

Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.

I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.—John 15:4–5
