Key Verses
v2 And He ate nothing during those days, and when THEY had ended, He became hungry. This was a process – intentional.
v14 And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.
v15 And He began teaching in their synagogues and WAS PRAISED BY ALL.
This was a big process. Jesus had just been anointed by the Holy Spirit at His baptism. The wilderness experience came, and Jesus dealt with the devil. I believe that this was a combination of testing and of shaping. Confrontation with the devil changes you. Jesus won victory over the devil. He ruled over that temptation. It had no power over him.
After “they” had finished, it was time. Jesus was released to do His work. And, all kinds of people praised Him. At that point, praise was not about to cause Him to fall. When God takes you through the refinement, you will be released. You will be commissioned, and you will do great works. And, man’s empty praise will not have an impact.
God’s praise will, however.
