I was playing in a golf tournament. Myself and two other guys got to an uphill par three.
I was first to hit, and my shot landed well to the right of the green. I was up at my ball as the others hit up. Both hit nice shots – close to the hole.
I dont recall hitting my next shot, but all I remember was that my ball was on the edge of the green. Then, it rolled off. I was going to putt it and was surveying the shot. The green was uphill and curved to the left.
One of the other guys in my group chipped my ball a couple of feet above the hole. It was a tester coming back but pretty close.
So, I was going to walk up to my shot but figured that I would try putting a practice ball from where my ball was before it rolled off the green. I hit it a mile past the hole.
As I walked around to go mark the chip shot ball, I got to thinking that me putting the ball was a penalty because I was still in the hole. I think that it was two shots.
But, I wasnt sure why that other guy chipping my ball was ok.
