Eyes to see what God is doing

Sometimes, God is at work in your life, and you are aware. But, others have no clue. Well, you wouldnt be the first nor the last. Moses even had to deal with it way back when.

Acts 7

25“And he supposed that his brethren understood that God was granting them deliverance through him, but they did not understand.”

This came at a key point in Moses’ life. He had grown up an Egyptian. He had power and authority. He was well learned. Now, God was about to move him out into a great period of fire. In fact, it was just about to be the start of his desert journey which would last forty more years. A great fire would be lit to really prepare Moses for the work that God had for him. It was awesome that Moses had an idea that he would be the deliverer forty years before it would come to pass.

Some of us get a whiff. And, some of us count stars. It is God who does the work and prepares us. And, just because you have a sense doesnt mean that God has let anyone else in on the secret. Their persecution might be exactly the kind of buzz saw that God intends on using to shape you into the fullness of your calling.

v29 adds to this. Moses fled to Midian where he became a father of two sons. He was led away to go live a life. This wasnt going to be a short little season. Even though Moses knew in his own heart that he was called to be the deliverer, he started a new life with a family. Sometimes, you have to keep moving forward to get back to the place you came from so that you can exercise the fullness of your calling and walk out your purpose.

God can and will take a person right to that place to show him who he is and what he is to do and then send him into a season of preparation before it all comes together.

God did the same thing with Abraham and the star counting thing.

This makes me wonder about Austin.

Then, we have the issue where we think we are ready for the work that God calls us into. We tend to want to believe that a move of God is a “now” thing. But, He can have a different idea. And, He does it here with Moses when Moses tries to break up the fight between the two Israelites. The one says to Moses, “who made you ruler and judge over us”. Well, God did. That is precisely what God did. So, here we see a prophetic statement being released at the same time, it is accusation in the eyes of the one speaking it. God knew what was being said. But, the Israelite had no clue. He used the exact purpose of Moses to bring about the transition of Moses fleeing to the desert. And, this would be a very important season for Moses so that he could fulfill all that God had for him.

Sometimes, a violent transition isnt necessarily of the devil.

26(AI)On the following day he appeared to them as they were fighting together, and he tried to reconcile them in peace, saying, ‘Men, you are brethren, why do you injure one another?’

27“But the one who was injuring his neighbor pushed him away, saying, ‘WHO MADE YOU A RULER AND JUDGE OVER US?

28‘YOU DO NOT MEAN TO KILL ME AS YOU KILLED THE EGYPTIAN YESTERDAY, DO YOU?’

29“At this remark, MOSES FLED AND BECAME AN ALIEN IN THE LAND OF MIDIAN, where he became the father of two sons.
