As I was running today, I came across a pile of 3″ screws in the street. I figured that I better pick them up lest some car run over them.
So, I did and put them in a pile on the side of the curb.
I continued on my way a bit. It was hot today. A ways away from there, I thought I heard the LORD say to go back and pick them up. He didnt tell me to put them on the side of the road. I saw a garbage can right next to where I was and sensed that I was to put them in there. Ah, man.
Ok, I ran back and got them. As I was running a short distance, I found another screw – shorter. So, I picked it up too.
I thought that I might want to count them. 23 longs ones, 1 short one.
Psalm 23. Verse 1.
The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
I was thinking about RockPile and the dream about getting screwed by the CEO. Then, I was thinking about going to jail. Not sure if that is true or not. Hoping not.
I was thinking about walking through the valley of the shadow of death.
But, that isnt verse one. The LORD is my shepherd is much better. Not wanting is too!
So, something is up. I like the idea of having Him as my shepherd and not needing anything, but I dont know all that this means.
We shall soon see.
The Lord, the Psalmist’s Shepherd.
A Psalm of David.
23 The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
