Keenan Tompkins on life

Sent Keenan a request for his experience after having gone through an extended period of no sales.

here’s his stuff:

John,

Thanks for reaching out.  As you know I have gone through my own tough times with business and have had to wrestle with what role “faith” plays in setting expectations for my business.  I have seen that no matter how big a person’s faith is, it doesn’t guarantee success financially.  Wisdom is also a gift from God and that couple with our talents and faith help us to be successful businessmen.  The lesson that I learned the hard way is that even though I had faith I was lacking wisdom in some of the decisions I was making in my business.  That lack of wisdom had consequences to it that almost made my go bankrupt.  However, by God’s grace, while he allowed me to go through a very difficult time, he revealed to me (aka gave me wisdom) the things that I was doing wrong with my business.  By his grace he didn’t let me fall all the way and at the last possible moment a key sale came in the door that saved my business and started the road of financial recovery for my company.  I made a promise “covenant” with God that I would learn from my mistakes and use the wisdom he gave me going forward.  He has since greatly blessed my company and not only restored what was lost but blessed me over and above what I could have imagined.

My “Faith” wasn’t the problem.  Just because we are a believer doesn’t mean that it’s an automatic guarantee we are going to be successful in business.  We need God’s wisdom and his blessing.  We can’t make God bless us no matter how big our faith is.  What we can do is ask for wisdom and believe that God give’s generously to all who ask.  Prophetic people like yourself have a tendency to “over spiritualize” things that are very pragmatic in life.  You have to keep yourself grounded and ask God to give you wisdom about your business.  If the blessings don’t start rolling in right away, you can’t put your family in a compromising and stressful situation.  You might need to get a job and run your business on the side until it takes off.  Or you might need to rework it a bit or reevaluate the readiness of the market for your product or service.

Love you man – thanks for asking.  I hope this helps.

Peace be on you and your family.  God I ask you to bless John with wisdom and understanding that can only come from you.  My your prosper him and his family as his heart is to not only provide for his family but be a blessing in your Kingdom…

Hey man,

I hope that you are well.

I have a question.

My company hasn’t had a sale to speak of for 6 months. Now, I know that you have wisdom here.

What does God say to you regarding us?

What counsel can you give me?

We are good, and we trust the LORD. But, it is hard.

Any help is appreciated.

Peace and favor,

John
