Laborers are Few

I am driving a school bus in the snow. I hit the brakes, and the wheels turn to the right and lock up. The bus skids and slides to a stop.

I am on a quiet, old town street at night. There is no one on the bus except me. I am driving around looking for the kids, but there are none. Everyone is off doing something else. Everyone has preferences other than getting on the bus.

On the base of the mountains overlooking town, I see a fire breaking out. I right the bus and drive to it. But, my one bucket to put the fire out isnt enough. It is futile to fight a fire with one bucket. I drive to the bus to the water and fill up the bucket. I drive back to the fire and throw the water on the fire. Over and over. The fire is making more progress than I am.

Luke 10:2
Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Fill up the bus, says the LORD! Focus on the laborers – not the harvest. You cannot do all the work by yourself. For, it is far to great, and the fire moves faster and further than any one man can reach.

Get the laborers ready. Teach them how to use their own buckets. Equip them with their own buckets. Let them baptize the fires in the hearts of the lost with My water. For a fire is never satisfied, and My water always quenches the thirst.

Give them buckets. Teach them to use the buckets. Then, you will overtake the fire.
