Personal Updates:
- Jack:
- Both of the recent worship times he did at Flat Iron’s went well – he went back again last night. He has a different mindset and is more mature.
- In the natural, one of the things that has helped him is we got him an acoustic guitar which is harder than the electric guitar. He plays lead guitar, so he’s the front man.
Business Updates:
John:
- Open Book Ben background:
- Nathan is the COO and John’s contact
- Chris is CEO
- Ric is the investor
- Open Book Ben update: There is favor there. They’re just provisional. Something will happen in Q4 or Q1 next yr.
- Nehemiah Ventures: I’m always waiting for that crazy moment when NV takes off. Had good progress to get the stock stuff done. Now we’re trying to figure out how much money to ask for. $80M is what we need. We’re working through a much more defined number, then it’s game on.
- Denver Startup Week: We have a big presentation at Denver Startup Week Tuesday 9am. Businesses open their doors and use them as venues to present diff issues/topics. Denver and Boulder – the 2 communities together are on fire for start-ups. This is my 3rd year being involved with it. I took Evver last year and had them present to other companies. This year I’ll present with Evver about our success. Last year $8k this year $15k. We’re presenting at CO States Denver campus. Last year 100-120 with half showing up. This year 250 people signed up. So Craig and I have been meeting and prepping for this presentation and Open Book Ben is going to be there (our prospect).
- Lots of opportunity to meet people at CCBA and Denver Start-up week.
Laura:
- Not much going on with me. Experiencing a season of a little less pressure, which is nice. In my view, teaching is more of a long-term proposition. It’s not something we can implement overnight. John and I talked about it a little this morning. Think I need to participate in some events other people have put together for what I want to do – learn from them first. I need to stick my foot in the water, so I’ll be looking for an opportunity to do something like that local – recon as well as what would be helpful for that.
John: Laura and I are doing exceedingly well.
Laura: John and I are at a turning point. When Ivan was talking to us weeks ago about praise and thanksgiving; that was pivotal in so many different things. His word kept coming back to me and it resonated when he said it. I brought it up to John and we started talking about it and we’re continuing that – t’s part of the new thing the Lord is doing in us and it’s just unfolding. We’re declaring it but also stepping into it.
Prayer Requests:
- Pray for confidence for me [John] for the presentation at Denver Startup Week.
- Pray for the right learning opportunities to come up for me [Laura] related to teaching and to know what the program would look like and how I would be involved in it. Also to have the right opportunity come up that I can participate in.

Lord, I ask that Your heart be felt by John and Laura this week. Let John know that your presence and Your counsel is constantly available to him as he prepares for his presentation. Let John speak from Your heart and Your mind not his. Let John surrender this presentation to You that he might once again see how much You care for him and how willing you are to partner with him in every area of his life. Fill John with confidence; a confidence that comes from knowing in You, his weakness is made strong that You might be Glorified. In Jesus Name Amen.

I was really happy when you said that you were praising the Lord. God, thank you for this tremendous breakthrough for John and Laura. Make John and Laura’s hearts even more open to praising You. Bring the blessings that flow from praising you. In Jesus name.

Laura, I saw you praising and worshiping before the Lord. I believe He is calling you into deeper intimacy with Him, praise and worship. He is also reminding you of His position in the heavenlies and that you are seated with Him in heavenly places.
