Luke 5:39
And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.”
Our old ways are always perceived as being better. We want the old wine no matter what the new wine might bring. We have tasted the old. We know it. It is familiar to us. We are comfortable with it. The new is undesirable. We dont know what it brings. It requires faith to taste the new wine.
Jesus is all about faith. When He brings us into a new place, we either trust Him as the giver of new wine or we fall back into the world of comfort and familiarity and stay in our old wineskin, never increasing in fruit.
