Study: Living God

I keep seeing “living God” showing up in scriptures. God is highlighting something. The big thing to me, is that He is truly alive and listening carefully to what we are saying.

1 Kings 16:34

It starts with Hiel (God lives), who rebuilt Jericho and lost his kids because of the curse that Joshua laid.

1 Kings 17:1 – Elijah declares to Ahab, “As the LORD, God of Israel lives…” no rain; righteousness

1 Kings 17:12 – Widow of Zarephath, who was to provide for Elijah. “As the LORD, Your God lives…”  provision

1 Kings 17:22 – God hears. He is alive; life

1 Kings 17:24 – The miraculous brings revelation, truth

1 Kings 18:10 – Obadiah, fear and circumstance

1 Kings 18:15 – LORD of Hosts, warrior God

1 Kings 18:36 – Elijah prays to a living God; He hears

1 Kings 22:14 – Micaiah – purity

2 Kings 2:2 – Elisha inherited the importance of a “living God”. Look at 2:4, 2:6, 3:14, 4:30 (shunamite)
